Our Citroen DS Super 5 comes from Ascoli Piceno and still carries the original plate with the province. Now transferred as scrap abandoned in the province of Brescia for 10 years has enjoyed a wonderful and maniacal restoration by the previous owner who in addition to completely restore the complicated mechanics has healed and repainted the entire body of its original blue color Delta code ac 640.

Presented to the public at the Paris auto show in 1955, Citroen DS immediately received an impressive success with 80,000 pre-orders.
Because of the customers, intrigued by the DS so futuristic and with modern lines, it remained in production for 20 years until 1975, counting as many as 1.3 million units produced.
Even today many technical innovations found under the beautiful body are used in the automotive world. The sought-after materials, such as the much lighter aluminum bonnet compared to the classic box-type removable fiberglass roof, contained the weight, greatly reducing the center of gravity. Front disc brakes located at the gearbox side to reduce the gyroscopic effect compared to the classic positioning of the drums at the wheel ends. 4 independent suspensions managed with a mix of hydraulic oil and nitrogen, servo brake, steering servo, semi-automatic gearbox, dynamic depth headlights.
